Italy Celebrates its National Day

The National Day of Italy was celebrated by the Consulate of Italy in Karachi at a local hotel recently. Consul General Danilo Giurdanella, in his welcome remarks, expressed his gratitude to all the distinguished guests present at the ceremony and highlighted the important aspects of strong and friendly cooperation between Italy and Pakistan in economic, cultural and social fields. The Consul General also congratulated the government of Pakistan on being elected in the UN Security Council as representative for the Asia Pacific region. Governor Sindh Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Ms. Faryal Talpur, and other dignitaries also attended the ceremony. 

To create an exclusive Italian evening, the venue was curated to display high end 

Italian excellence with product displays from Natuzzi Italia, Nova Color Pakistan, S. 

Abdullah Homes, and Versace by Eleganz Luxury. The display space had been beautifully curated by M/S Axis Design.

At the occasion of the National Day of Italy, Bella Italia – Italian Food Festival was 

also organized, celebrating Italian culinary heritage. Chef Vincenzo de Liso, originating from the vibrant culinary traditions of Naples, showcased his culinary innovation and creativity at the event.

France Alumni Day

The Consulate General of France, in collaboration with the French Embassy in Pakistan, Campus France Pakistan and Pakistan France Business Alliance, hosted the second edition of “France Alumni Day – connecting talents with global careers,” recently at Alliance Francaise.

The event was organized to promote the careers of alumni and to present the role that their academic education in France played in their career choices, encouraging interaction among the Pakistani Alumni, French companies established in Pakistan and other members of Pakistan France Business Alliance.

One of the important features of the event was a panel discussion with companies and alumni followed by a dinner reception to bring people together. A special “Souvenirs de France” playlist, prepared by the alumni, was also played.

The event was attended by Mr. Kamran Tessori, Governor of Sindh, various personalities from the business community, the education sector and universities.

French Guitarist Enthralls

The Consulate General of France, in partnership with Alliance Francaise in Karachi, recently organized an enjoyable guitar concert presented by world-renowned guitarist Thibault Cauvin at Alliance Francaise. It was a treat for music lovers residing in Karachi. Cauvin has played in 1000 concerts being held in 120 countries and has released 8 albums and received 13 international first prizes.

The event was attended by foreign diplomats, members of Pakistan Business Community and people from all walks of life. The audience was enthralled by the music and the talent of the guitarist who played the music with effortless ease.

The concert was followed by “Gout de France/Good France 2024” celebration in partnership with Cote Rotie restaurant, where the attendees tasted different dishes of traditional French cuisine.

An Indonesian Evening

A beautiful evening was arranged by the Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi in which industrialists, stakeholders and media were invited. Sultana Siddiqui, President HUM Network, was present as an honourable guest on the occasion. The event promoted the upcoming Trade Expo Indonesia 2024. As Consul General Dr June Kuncoro Hadiningrat is leaving in July, it was also a sad moment for the invitees as Dr June and his wife are very popular here.

The Consul General presided over the ceremony and expressed his gratitude to the Governor of Sindh, Mr. Kamran Tessori, for his support. As part of the event, certificates of appreciation were presented to various partners who have significantly contributed to the success of the Indonesian Consulate’s initiatives in Karachi.

The event also featured the presentation of the Friends of Indonesia – Shield Award to distinguished personalities who have played a pivotal role in promoting Indonesia’s socio-cultural and economic diplomacy in Sindh.

The evening was an extremely enjoyable one with live singing by a brilliant Indonesian singer and a beautiful peacock dance presented by young Indonesian dancers, followed by a seven-course meal.
