Honey is just not tasty; it is a bona fide beauty aid in its own right because it is not processed and is packed with natural benefits. Here are seven ways to utilize honey’s power for healthier skin and hair.

A skin-softening exfoliator

For a soft glowing skin, honey is the best natural exfoliator that can be used anytime. To prepare the mixture mix a tablespoon of honey, one tablespoon of brown sugar and one tablespoon of lemon juice. If you skin is blemished or acne-prone, try adding ½ teaspoon of cinnamon which will boost the scrub’s anti-bacterial properties.

A dry lip fixer

Given that honey is both a great natural exfoliator and moisturizer, fixing flaky, cracked lips couldn’t be easier. It helps shed dry skin from your lips and hydrates. Apply honey over your lips at night and wake up with a super-soft smile.

A cracked feet healer

Honey can also help soften hard soles and cracked heels. Applying honey before bed is more effective resulting in super soft feet – wear socks after applying.

A mask for silky hair

To hydrate one’s hair, honey can be used as a mask to achieve silky hair – adding a super shine to rough hair and split ends. To prepare your own hair mask, mix one tablespoon of raw honey with two tablespoons of olive oil or coconut oil and apply it to the length and ends of your hair. Wrap it up into a shower cap and leave for twenty minutes. If you’re short of time, just add honey in your conditioner and apply for five minutes and rinse off.

A split treatment

This is where honey’s antiseptic properties come into play. When applied to spots and blemishes directly, it not only clears bacteria but also reduces swelling while helping repair any damaged skin swiftly.

An acne scar lightener

Honey’s antiseptic nature helps in decreasing the amount of time a spot takes to heal, but it also works on healing the acne scars as it has gentle bleaching properties as well.

A sunburn healer

Honey can add sunburn and minor burns, and is considered one of the oldest known hacks. It can be applied using a clean makeup brush, keeping the area well-covered.
