HUM and Ignite Launch CEGA, Pakistan’s First Gaming and Animation Hub
An initiative to empower young creators, startups, and storytellers through technology and innovation.
HUM Network has joined hands with Ignite National Technology Fund, a government organisation under the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication that supports innovation and digital entrepreneurship. Together, they are launching the Centre of Excellence in Gaming and Animation (CEGA), marking an important step toward shaping Pakistan’s creative and digital future.
Backed by an investment of Rs 2.52 billion, CEGA will train 10,000 young people, support 200 startups, and provide 100 free co-working spaces for creators and innovators. The goal is to give Pakistan’s talent the tools, mentorship, and opportunities to tell stories that can compete on the world stage.
At the signing ceremony, Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Shaza Khawaja highlighted the government’s commitment to empowering youth through digital skills and entrepreneurship.
Speaking at the event, HUM Network CEO Duraid Qureshi said that CEGA is about more than technology. It is about nurturing people and their stories. He explained that the centre will help turn creative ideas into real opportunities and called it “the beginning of a new chapter for Pakistan’s creative revolution.”
By combining HUM’s media experience with Ignite’s focus on technology, CEGA brings creativity and innovation together. The initiative aims to shape a future where Pakistani artists, designers, and storytellers can thrive globally.
