Imkaan Welfare Organization held a charity concert, “Chalo Phir Muskaraye – Remembering Nayyara: A Symphony of Memories,” held recently at Arts Council, Karachi. The event celebrated the timeless contributions of legendary singer Nayyara Noor, featuring a tribute performance by artist Nazia Zuberi Hassan.

Nazia Zuberi Hassan, who began her musical journey as part of Sohail Rana’s children’s music show at PTV, headlined the evening. With a lifelong passion for music, Ms. Hassan has contributed her voice to numerous causes. A seasoned performer trained in semi-classical music, she is committed to preserving the traditions of Ghazal and Geet, captivating audiences with her live performances.

Founded in 2012, Imkaan Welfare Organization is dedicated to empowering marginalized and undocumented communities facing challenges of basic rights and identity issues. It provides a range of essential services, including legal empowerment, education, maternal and child health, mental health support, advocacy and vocational training.

Proceeds from this concert benefitted Khel, a flagship initiative of Imkaan that supports marginalized children in Machar Colony. These children, often without proper documentation and lacking access to formal education, benefit from literacy and recreational programmes offered through Khel. To date, over 400 children have been assisted, enhancing their ability to enroll in age-appropriate classes.

This event was supported by EMI Pakistan, the country’s oldest and largest music company, which has played a vital role in preserving and promoting Pakistan’s golden era of music since 1939.
